Moviemov: Italian Film Festival 2011

Moviemov is a travelling festival supported by the General Direction for Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Heritage and Culture, in collaboration with the Italian Embassies in Bangkok and Manila, as well as Institutional and Private Partners, whose goal is to create a line-up of films and events that will best promote and show in Asia what present-day Italian cinema is all about.

Spreading contemporary Italian cinema in Manila is a good opportunity to have new audiences, and more importantly, to have collaborations between the Italian and the Filipino filmmakers, creating films that are made up of an international exchange of ideas.

The organizers of this festival have chosen the free entry to all screenings, workshops and review meetings in order to boost participation among school and university students. A dense and multi-voice dialogue that – as the organizers hope – will become a perpetual cultural event for audiences of so ancient and sophisticated artistic traditions and able to meet the offer of a new generation of writers, actors and producers who bode well for the renewal of Italian cinema.

Two workshops by famous horror-film-director Dario Argento and award-winning composer Franco Piersanti will be conducted as well, and this will definitely draw in hundreds of people, be they students of film or film enthusiasts.

Sorry for a long blog hiatus, it was a very hectic job transfer that I forgot to update this  shith*le. lol!

I had my haircut last week though my hair remains in its light brown hue. Nothing fancy about it, I just wanna pair my hairstyle with what I do in my new job. haha! You will find out soon.

So I just dropped-by at the show of Design, Fusion & Trends for the Philippine Fashion Week, Spring-Summer 2012. I thought that this is the one of the few shows to anticipate for every fashion week (I’m anti-commercialized show by the way). I went home after the show to finish some work-related stuff. Fashion week does not excite me anymore, I  guess because of the current stress I am having with my job and life.

about the look:

5cm Fall 2011 Collection

Royal We is the theme of 5cm Fall/Winter 2011 Men’s Collection. This collection is inspired by the noble tradition of an English royal family, which is commonly described as the imperial power of a country; 5cm is giving it a new yet rebellious interpretation. The classy red, blue and green are used as the accent colors, applying these colors in various stripes, polka dots and Scottish patterns to bring out a fashion-forward gentleman’s autumn look.

Moreover, a confident mix of fabrics and textures is applied in different products, such as bottoms, button-down shirts, polo shirts, t-shirts and accessories. For a unique and invigorated look, try a flock print shirt with a drape-cut denim cardigan and a pair of cropped pants.

5cm is definitely taking mixing of fabrics, collision of patterns in its unique and detailed pieces to the next level in this coming fall and turns the cold season to one hot fashion parade.

Here are my favorite pieces from the collection:

Prints: I just recently blogged about prints and patterns in men’s clothing and it was a surprise for me to bump into Mr. Paul Arnaez [Brand Manager of 5cm-Philippines] and discovered the recent collection will involve Scottish prints and patterns that are must-haves for the season.

I just love the elements of this collection which can accommodate the laid-back sense for most men:

Corporate & Formal: For some to have options to be trendy in their workplaces and for special occasion, the collection offers the updated pieces that is regal and can uplift your royal-spirit within. The royal blue and the scarlet hues are very royal, eh?

Into-the-Future: I have found the pieces that are so me! The draping techniques for this collection are amazing!

Edgy-Grungy:  As it caters all your desires, no wonder these pieces can bring you into the wild side.

Launched in 1998, 5cm is one of the house labels of Hong Kong’s fashion conglomerate I.T Group.  5cm offers fashion-forward men’s line that cuts across from casual minimalist garb to cutting-edge, alternative luxe wear.

5cm Fall’11 collection is now available at 5cm boutique in Mall of Asia and its newest branch in Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center.  You may check 5cm’s website at www.5cm.com.hk and facebook: http://www.facebook.com/5cmph

ArtSpace | Sining Kamalig: MYTHS of our making

4th floor of Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Quezon City

In placid hours well-pleased we dream
Of many a brave unbodied scheme.
But form to lend, pulsed life create,
What unlike things must meet and mate:
A flame to melt—a wind to freeze;
Sad patience—joyous energies;
Humility—yet pride and scorn;
Instinct and study; love and hate;
Audacity—reverence. These must mate,
And fuse with Jacob’s mystic heart,
To wrestle with the angel—Art.-
Herman Melville
